Parent Coaching

Parenting—whether as a birth parent, foster carer, or adoptive parent—can feel overwhelming at times. Every family is different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. What children need most is to feel safe, understood, and supported as they learn how to manage their emotions and handle life’s ups and downs.

At The Regulated Child, we offer coaching that helps you understand your child’s behaviour through the lens of self-regulation. We’ll work with you to build calm, connected strategies that reduce stress, strengthen relationships, and support your child’s emotional development.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone—we’re here to help

Neurodivergence and Childhood Trauma

We specialise in supporting parents and carers whose children are neurodivergent or have been impacted by early trauma. Caring for a child who experiences the world differently requires a whole different level of knowledge and skills. It is like parenting in the premier league. It's a role that encompasses a broad range of emotions, daily inner conflicts, and the constant quest for the right response to various situations. At times, it can feel overwhelming and exhausting.

Taking the first step……..

Taking the first step in reaching out for help can feel really daunting, but please don’t worry. All parent coaching sessions are facilitated personally by Nicola and she has been where you are today. She knows from personal experience how hard it can get, the fears, the worries and the doubts.

Nicola will listen to your story without judgement, help you find your starting point and guide you every step of the way.

You can either book a free 30 minute chat with Nicola to decide if parent coaching is a good fit for you or send an email to tell her a little about your family.

Testimonials

  • A. Wells

"My husband and I were at a complete loss as to why our life felt so difficult day to day with our 8 year old son. That all changed when we met Nicola. Nicola helped us understand what was going on inside our son's mind and body. In our coaching sessions she explained some simple techniques that we could apply day to day. It was extremely beneficial to be able to talk through situations and gain a better understanding of the many factors at play. All of which resulted in a positive outcome.

Thanks to Nicola we now have a more balanced household where everyone is happier. My husband and I also have a lot more patience and empathy towards our son. Nicola came into our lives at a time when we felt despair. We no longer feel alone and stranded. We now know that help is out there. On a personal level Nicola is such a wonderful person. She is extremely likeable and very easy to talk to. We connected with her instantly."
